All courses are supervised by a Senior Instructor and are delivered by qualified Dinghy Instructors.

CSCC is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Registered Training Centre and offers a wide range of courses to young sailors.

Our Junior Sail Training Programme is incredibly popular, and we are sorry that there is now unlikely to be availability for new members for 2019.

If you were on the Training Programme or expressed your interest in 2018 we will be in contact in early Spring 2019. The Training Administrator can be reached via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

At CSCC we teach RYA Young Sailors Stages 1-4 on Friday evenings through the summer term. We also facilitate After-School Sailing Club 4pm-6pm on Mondays through the summer term and in the first half of the Autumn Term. The Club also offers various opportunities to young sailors, as they gain experience, for cruising and racing on Thursday evenings, Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.

Stage 1 is for beginners aged 8 and above and no previous experience is required. By the end of Stage 1 young people should be able to sail a boat under supervision in good conditions. Stages 2 and 3 develop sailing skills and Stage 4 teaches sailing in double-handed boats. By the end of Stage 2 young people should be sailing competently on their own in good conditions and by the end of Stage 3/4 they should be able to sail in more challenging conditions. Club boats used for training sessions include an RS Vision, RS Teras, Toppers and RS Fevas.

All participants in club training must be club members.
