World Marathon Canoe Championships in Gyor

Congratulations To Melvin on winning Gold V60 at the Worlds in the Age Group Catagories, also well done to Bob Scholey 9th Vet70. Jenny Illidge finished 9th in U23 K1. Jenny and Jenny competing in the Senior Women's Event, the racing was hard and very fast and they did really well finishing 11th. The Hungarians put on a brilliant event, the weather was very hot too, and the spectators were very loud, which made for a very exciting event!

The only other race news I have had is 'Multi-sport' Quadrathlon

Jean Ashley has had a very busy September, winning Overall W. at 'Shrewsbury Sprint Quad' at the start of the month (600m River swim, 5km kayak, 24km bike and 5km run). The following weekend she raced at the 'Fabian 4 Dyffryn Conwy Mountain Challenge' this was a 13km estuary kayak (Conwy Ascent course) followed by a very tough 14km mountain run and finally at 20km MTBike around the hills trails and streams of Betws-y-Coed Forest, after really hard long race she finished 4th (1st V50). Last weekend she raced in Bude Quadrathlon, Cornwall  (1500km swim, 40km bike, 10km kayak and 10km run) having raced this course 8 times before she flew round, the stunning calm weather enabled her to get a PB and she won Ladies overall.

Please let me know if you have done any races so I can share your news ... THANKS
